| Medicaid:
|
| A federal program (Title XIX of the Social Security Act) that pays for health services for certain categories of people who are poor, elderly, blind, disabled, or who are enrolled in certain programs, including Medicaid Waivers. Medicaid also covers children whos families receive assistance.

| Medicare:
|
| A federally funded program (Title XX of the Social Security Act) which pays for health care for the elderly and for adults who are disabled.

| Motivational Interviewing:
|
| A non-confrontational approach to eliciting recovery-seeking behaviors. The approach emphasizes relationship-building (expressions of empathy), heightening discrepancy between an individual's personal goals and present circumstances, avoiding argumentation (activation of problem-sustaining defense structure), rolling with resistance (emphasizing respect for the individual experiencing the problem and their necessity and ability to solve the problem), and supporting self-efficacy (expressing confidence in the person's ability to recover and expressing confidence in recovery). |
| Multiple Personality Disorder:

| A rare dissociative disorder marked by the appearance, within one person, of two or more distinct personalities (multiple personalities), each with its own name, history, and traits. Each of the multiple alternative personalities are usually fully integrated with consistent patterns of behavior and attitudes.
